California $ummit on Financial Literacy
April is Financial Literacy Month. In support of this important goal, the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) encourages you to attend the California Summit on Financial Literacy. You are invited to join hundreds of others in the personal finance education community and attend the first state summit on financial literacy. This groundbreaking event will be held in Sacramento on Wednesday, April 26, 2006.
The California Summit on Financial Literacy is a joint effort of the California Jump$tart Coalition, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, California CPA Education Foundation and CalCPA Institute. The event will gather together California's and the nation's thought leaders in personal finance education to assess the state of financial literacy in California, create a vision of a more financially literate state, and provide solutions to fight financial illiteracy.
The Summit is hosted by California Jump$tart and the CalCPA Institute. The event is generously sponsored by the AICPA Education Foundation, Citigroup, Schwab Foundation, Richard Myles Johnson Foundation, Patelco Credit Union and ByDesign Financial Solutions. CPAs who attend will receive six credit hours for attending this course/event.
