DFI Requests Licensees to Help Facilitate Recovery from Southern California Fires

Starting on Thursday, November 13, 2008 and continuing through the weekend, a series of fires swept through large areas of Southern California, burning thousands of acres and destroying hundreds of homes.

Governor Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency to exist in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside Counties.

DFI recognizes the serious impact the Southern California fires have had and will continue to have on financial institutions and the communities they serve. We encourage our licensees to work with customers whose lives have been affected by the fires.

Please inform your customers who were affected by these tragic events that they can call 1-800-952-5210 or go to www.rebuildyourlife.ca.gov for consumer protection information.
